A bottle model for head-related transfer functions

چکیده
We describe a parsimonious model for the directiondependent transfer function of the pinna. The model describes the transfer function with reference to resonators located in particular physical positions relative to the ear canal. The purpose of the work is to provide a parametric model that permits identi cation with moderate data-gathering, and lter speci cation for any direction without the need for interpolation of responses.

Modeling Head Related Transfer Functions
Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTF’s) characterize the transformation of a sound source to the sounds reaching the eardrums, and are central to binaural hearing. Because they are the result of wave propagation and difiraction, they can only be approzimated by finitely parameterized filters. The functional dependence of the HRTF on azimuth und elevation is described, the requirements for a mo...
متن کاملA new method for fuzzification of nested dummy variables by fuzzy clustering membership functions and its application in financial economy
In this study, the aim is to propose a new method for fuzzification of nested dummy variables. The fuzzification idea of dummy variables has been acquired from non-linear part of regime switching models in econometrics. In these models, the concept of transfer functions is like the notion of fuzzy membership functions, but no principle or linguistic sentence have been used for inputs. Consequen...
متن کاملA resolution comparison of horizontal and vertical magnetic transfer functions
The main goal of the present study is to identify characteristics of the inter-station horizontal magnetic responses and the vertical magnetic data, as two types of magnetotelluric transfer functions, in the modeling procedure. Through consideration of model responses and two-dimensional inversion of synthetic data, sensitivity of the data components in detecting different geophysical structure...
متن کاملTime and Frequency Decomposition of Head-Related Impulse Responses for the Development of Customizable Spatial Audio Models
This paper introduces a new approach to the decomposition of measured Head-Related Impulse Responses (HRIRs) based on simultaneous analysis in the time and frequency domains. This approach is computationally less demanding and faster than previous systematic approaches proposed for this purpose. Currently, HRIRs are the most usual representation of Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs), which...
متن کاملBinaural Rendering in MPEG Surround
This paper describes novel methods for evoking a multichannel audio experience over stereo headphones. In contrast to the conventional convolution-based approach where, for example, five input channels are filtered using ten head-related transfer functions, the current approach is based on a parametric representation of the multichannel signal, along with either a parametric representation of t...
